Rotator Cuff Tendonitis

Rotator Cuff Tendonitis:

  • Also known as supraspinatus tendonitis, subdeltoid bursitis, subacromial bursitis, and partial tear of rotator cuff.
  • The four rotator cuff tendons provide the shoulder with mobility and stability.
  • These tendons internally and externally rotate and abduct the arm.
  • Repeated overhead motions result in wear and tear of the tendons as they pass between the humerus and acromion process.
  • Symptoms include a dull aching sensation over the tendon, discomfort with specific movements, and tenderness to touch.
