Orthopedic Physiotherapy

Orthopedics is the medical specialty that deals with the restoration and preservation of function of musculoskeletal system(bones,joints,nerves,etc.).In fact "orthopedic" is a Greek words “ortho,” meaning straight, and “pais,” meaning children or pediatric.It is because orthopedics was first developed to treat children who had crippling or debilitating diseases but modern orthopedic physicians treat everyone, no matter their age.
The therapist is a specialist in the treatment of:

  •  Post operative joints
  •  Sports injuries
  •   Arthritis Disease or injuries affecting muscles, bones,                                                                             ligaments or tendons
  •  Amputations

Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
De Quevain's Disease
Tendonitis
Epicondylitis
Rotator Cuff Syndrome
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Tension Neck Syndrome
Disc Herniation
Back Pain

Signs and Symptoms of MSDs

Early Warning Signs:
  • Numbness or burning sensation in hand
  • Reduced grip strength in the hand
  • Swelling or stiffness in the joints
  • Pain in wrists, forearms, elbows, neck, or back
  • Reduced range of motion in the shoulder, neck, or back
  • Dry, itchy, or sore eyes
  • Blurred or double vision
  • Aching or tingling
  • Cramping
  • Weakness


These signs and symptoms should be reported and are an indicator that an ergonomic assessment should be made.
